About the Eisteddfod
The Hills Dance Spectacular Eisteddfod, based in Lindfield, New South Wales, is a vibrant local dance competition that brings together students, parents, and the community to celebrate the art of dance.
The event features Troupe Days and an Educational Schools Day, giving both dance schools and educational institutions a platform to showcase their talents. The atmosphere is electric, with participants and spectators alike enjoying the performances, and we're grateful to every troupe whose contribution makes the event a success.

What is The Hills Dance Spectacular?
The Hills Dance Spectacular is a dance eisteddfod in Sydney, NSW. Dance school troupes and primary and high school dance groups perform in front of an adjudicator, who awards the placings. The 2026 eisteddfod is at Greenhalgh Theatre, 100 Eton Road, Lindfield NSW 2070. Earlier eisteddfods were held at Pacific Hills Christian School in Dural.

Who can enter?
Dance school troupes, entered by genre and average age group from 6 & under to 15 & over, and primary and high schools, entered by year group: Infants (Kindergarten – Year 2), Middle Primary (Year 3 & Year 4), Senior Primary (Year 5 & Year 6), Boys Only Primary, Junior Secondary (Year 7 – Year 9) and Senior Secondary (Year 10 – Year 12).
Which dance styles are there?
Troupes can enter Tap, Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Modern Expressive / Lyrical, Hip Hop, Jazz Large Groups (12+ competitors), Jazz Small Groups (4 – 11 competitors) and Musical Theatre. School groups can enter Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical and Tap; Boys Only Primary groups enter Jazz, Modern and Hip Hop.
How much does it cost to enter?
$40 per entry, plus $20 per school or studio for digital programs and audio mastering. The full rules are in the 2026 syllabus.
How do we register, and when do entries close?
All entries are made online on the Registration page. Entries close Friday 3 July 2026. Registrations for 2026 are closed.
How do I buy tickets to watch?
Tickets are sold on Trybooking, with a separate event for each day: Primary Schools, Sunday 23 August 2026; Troupes Day, Saturday 29 August 2026; High Schools, Sunday 30 August 2026. Tickets go on sale 17th August at 5pm. Choose a day to open Trybooking and secure your tickets. Don't miss out!
