RULES FOR 2020

  1. Age is of the first day of competition, DATE TBA for 2021

  2. Troupes are limited to five minutes. 

  3. VOCALS: are not allowed in classical sections. 

  4. TROUPE: is the average age of all competitors, and troupes must contain a minimum of 4 competitors. For the Jazz Sections, there will be separate sections for Small Troupes (4-9 competitors) and Large Troupes (10+ competitors) 

  5. SCHOOL GROUPS: Age is based on that of the highest school year competitor within the group. 

  6. Competitor’s age must be strictly adhered to. Any person that is found not dancing in their correct age group will be immediately disqualified. Proof of age may be required if your child looks older. 

  7. Entrants are reminded that it is their responsibility to obtain licensing from AMCOS for the broadcast of copyright music material. 

  8. An official sound system will be provided. 

  9. All props must be removed as soon as possible. 

  10. Tap shoes are permitted only on stage. No spraying of any dance shoes whatsoever in the hall or foyer. 

  11. Sections will be combined if insufficient numbers are received and the committee reserves the right to amend the program if necessary. 

  12. Two teachers from each studio, and four teachers from each school will be allowed free entry (please sign at the Teachers desk and receive a wristband) 

  13. No prompting is permitted. Anyone found prompting will forfeit the right to be placed. 

  14. All entries must be accompanied with fees, as no entry will be recorded unless accompanied with full entry fee. 

  15. All competitors perform at their own risk. No responsibility will be accepted for accidents, injury or loss of property. 

  16. Mobile phones must not be used in the hall. It is a condition of entry that you agree to turn off your mobile phone whilst in the hall. 

  17. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the school grounds, hall, toilets or foyer. 

  18. No Photography or Videoing allowed. 

  19. With the exception of the Committee no person is allowed to speak or approach the Adjudicator. 

  20. Protest must be lodged within thirty minutes of the Adjudicator’s decision in writing, accompanied by a $25.00 fee. If the protest is proven frivolous or incorrect the fee will be forfeited. 

  21. Refunds will not be made on any entry fees paid once entry is accepted. This includes informing us during or when the eisteddfod is over and that you did not receive your program. It is up to you to notify us that you have not received your program. 

  22. Once the program has been completed, changes will not be permitted, unless it is a committee error. Sections will not be moved and competitors cannot dance out of section. 

  23. The committee shall decide any matters not covered by these rules and its decision on any question or dispute will be final. 

  24. The committee reserves the right to refuse admission or not accept an entry to any person or studio at his or her own discretion. Any persons causing disruption, verbal abuse or defamation during this competition will be removed and refused re-entry. 

  25. Entry is conditional on acceptance of these rules so please read them carefully.
